Forge Under the Mountains – Blacksmithing Residency in Brazil
The Guild’s exclusive foreign residency, Forge Under the Mountains, is located on Santa Catarina Island, Florianópolis, Brazil. This immersive program offers 1-month and 3-month residencies, providing a rare opportunity to refine your craft in a traditional, hands-on blacksmithing environment.
Application Requirements

Letter of Intent: Explain your background, goals, and planned work during the residency

April–November residencies: Apply at least 60 days in advance

What to Expect

Accommodations: Private studio apartment near a traditional charcoal forge

Work Environment: Hand-forging only, limited machinery

Costs: Monthly fee + personal expenses (travel, food, medical care)

Sales Opportunity: Sell your work in the onsite gallery (20% commission)
