Castle Forge at Burg Stahleck

Our Forge in Germany is located within the Middle Rhine Valley, in the small walled town of Bacharach, famous for its medieval architecture and its wine, yes wine!  We forge inside and outside the Castle known as Burg Stahleck, which has stood the test of time since the 12th century. In inclement weather we forge in the next town over, which is also walled, called Oberwesel, which has a blacksmith shop that's been there since 12th century.

Our Germany Destination Package includes lodging, shuttle service to and from Frankfurt International Airport. The package also includes 8 days of Forging & Instruction. If Bookings are made at least six months in advance there is a good chance you can even stay in the castle while in Germany. 

 Package is normally two weeks but can be tailored to the individual. Blacksmithing is generally geared toward beginners of the craft. Students can expect to forge nails, hooks, candle holders, bottle openers, tongs and a simple knife. These lessons are taught by Forged in Fire's Untested Champion & Guildmaster Sam H. Smith.
